Blog Introduction

Hydrangea3Hi! Welcome to my blog! I'm Lisa Fisher Johnson, a professional artist and art teacher--my passions are painting, drawing, sculpting and teaching.  Especially using old master methods and techniques.

I own Fisher Johnson Studios, a fine arts studio dedicated to creating contemporary art using classical methods.  I received my M.F.A. from the New York Academy of Art, the Graduate School of Figurative Art and have been creating and teaching for the past 20 years.

My students encouraged me to start blogging, and I want to say a big Thank You to all of them--you all inspire me more than you will ever know!  Topics to be covered here:

  • Process of creativity--A day in the life of an artist
  • Tips, methods and techniques for painting, drawing, and sculpture
  • My favorite artists: Old and Contemporary Masters
  • Color theory
  • Critique Protocol

Thanks for stopping by--would love to hear from you!

Comment policy:  Please use Critique Protocol-- be considerate, be nice, be specific, be constructive.  I will do my best to respond to all feedback.  Please note--if I feel like a comment does not meet these requirements, it will be deleted.
